支持使用环保袋 Bags revolution

去年在Friendster部落格上写过有关环保的感言，希望鼓励人们多用环保袋，少用塑料袋。

今年在伦敦机缘巧合认识到一个做袋的人，他有非常有有意思的袋子构思，我希望可以把这个概念带回国，让更多的人知道。

全球暖化，各地掀起绿色环保运动。
此行回来给亲朋戚友带少了纪念品，却带来一些在国外目前很流行的绿色环保袋。走在纽澳市区街头，放眼望去可以看见去shopping的人们个个“持绿”， 尽可能避免用塑胶袋。
不禁感叹当地政府配合商家的全力推动和市民的热烈响应。身为旅客的我也参与其盛，凡出街时便提个环保袋，将所有买的东西统统丢进环保袋里，简单又方便。以无纺布制成的环保袋非常结实，可以一用再用。
妈说，哎呀，马来西亚都有这种袋子拉。但去市镇shopping时，还是最好用百货市场提供的塑胶袋，以防不会被误以为还没付钱呢。在这里风气还没热起来，有的嫌麻烦或根本不在乎，人人都这样我也这样的心态，你不拿塑胶袋人家还会用好奇的眼光看你。我想，除了在菜市可以看到一些安娣提菜篮去买菜，或许还有少部分的人不懂得环保袋背后的意义。

昨日看网上新闻。据一些学者预测，在未来的十五年里，山顶的冰河将全部消失。回想起去年我给Lucience看一些去Mt.Cook时的照片。那时和友人特地搭直升机去看纽西兰最高的山川冰河，她语重心长地说，好漂亮！还好你现在看到了，或许再过不久便没有机会了。。。

愚人的智慧 Gump Wisdom

四月份在伦敦住在背包旅馆。隔壁的房间有人发生口角，然后其中一人被刀刺伤。一整个晚上警察轮流守驻案发现场。我在隔了一门墙的床上偷偷张望，默默为那位曾经在厨房有一面之缘，如今却人在医院的那男子祈福。

五月中离开旅馆，搬到格林威治去。对，就是那个有名的格林威治标准时间的发源地。深深被那从格林威治天文台公园上俯瞰的城市风景吸引。

我的一个画家朋友对我说，我这个人想法天真，对身边的人好像都没有保持警惕性，被人害也不懂或也无所谓。他说你要是越单纯在你身边不存好意的人便会越多，尤其生活在伦敦这复杂的大城市。我不以为然。
从来不爱用有色眼探讨人家，对方坏不坏不会影响到你。心态决定状态。可能以后想法会改变，但以后再说吧。

这个月很有趣，因为遇到。。。

Wonderful Christmas day 感恩圣诞节

On Christmas day I have to work,it was an enjoyable experince on christmas day .

At first,I found a present to me when I come to work.It has a tag from "The Henderson family",so suprised!Because I didn't expect company will give present to all the waiting staff.My boss Nick gave everyone a x'mas huge wishing merry x'mas.Another suprise!It was a warmer side of him.

One of our chef,David,had organised a "Secret Santa"activity.Everyone of us have to pick up a name of a person and become the person's Secret Santa.So everyone have the chance to become a Santa and the receiver of the gift.I totoally thrilled with the concept.Therefore, before Christmas,I have to go to choose the present and wrap the present for "the one".I felt taking part in this festive season.

At night,some of the staff have a little party in the staff house.It probably the last gathering before I leave and go for another journey.Yes,I have friends here.My leaving just because I would like to continue my exploring trip around UK and also Europe.To see as much as I can within 2 years.

It been almost 4 months working at Burts.I have never expected to work such a long period because I thought I will be fired.Thanks the hotel for the opportunity for me to work and learn from mistake.Oh ya so many mistakes...

It been an honoured to work in such a good reputation hotel.

I have to thank you everyone.

冬郁 Winter Melancholy

最近很开心收到一些读者的respond，让我再次恢复心情去update部落格。
生活的郁闷让我提不起劲去耕耘部落格，开始跟英国的天气结怨。白天阳光的出现只有那几个小时，下午四点未到，天色已暗商店已关。没有吹风还好，风一来，走在街头，寒风入骨。只想回到温暖的房间把暖气开到最高点再埋进厚厚的棉被里。
从2008到2012年间，全英国将实施转数码电视系统。意味传统的电视频道将由一种叫digital box控制器取代，它提供高达46免费电视频道。人民必须花几十镑购买这种box,否则电视机可以丢掉。
我住的这里位于苏格兰和英格兰的边境，是第一个实施这种计划的地方。
昨天还好好的电视频道，今天全都突然消失。
若有所失。。虽然不太爱看英国的电视节目，却是念习英语听力的重要来源。将电视一天开到晚不管你有没有在看，只要耳朵在听，总有成果。要相信潜移默化的力量，几个月下来渐渐也跟上和熟悉他们的英语讲话进度了。
苏格兰每个地方都有不同的地方口音，有一些特别“严重”，根本听不出是英语。听说他们还有自己的文法。这里的英语的确让我初初来到时尝尽苦头，但因为工作关系故有机会常常接触客人，尤其大部分是当地人，所以很快就适应这里的英语。
话说回来，不喜欢这里的寒冷，不喜欢一些人的孤僻古怪（可以说天气造成的，一定是！）不喜欢天色快变暗，不喜欢冷寂的街道，不喜欢天气变幻无常，不喜欢经常吹大风下雨。
改变不了大自然地理因素，那唯有改变自己的想法咯。
嗯，我一定可以找到这里的生存方法的。

Hey you can't just put on some photos just walk through the readers.
Since haven't updated my blog for quite a while,I don't know what to start with to tell my working holiday life in UK.Back to London,I have spent some wonderful,happy,but also anxiety ,sweats and tears.It was about a month ago before I decided to come to Scotland.

I am working at Burts hotel at the moment in Melrose,is a small little old town,middle of no where in the borders between Scotland and England.

This is my work schedule
7.50-10 Breakfast
11.55-2.30 Lunch
6-10 Dinner

Two split shift,in between the break I usually back to staff accomondation to have some rest,sulf the internet,read and sleep.I try to read BBC as much as possible and did some English grammar practice as much as possible
I have the greatest resources now for self-studying English.A TV and radio in the room,where many English programs shown everyday (even some are so boring,many cooking programs)I like the BBC news and some documentaries the most.I watched movies to learn the way Englsih people express themselves and to absorb more new English and vacaburies.My workplace surrounded all English speaking people.Mostly Scottish ,who speak unique accent.There also have people from Poland,South Africa and Austra.We work together as waitress waiter.

The hotel provide accomondation and food for 7 days.I work about 8hour 45 min a day,5 days a week got 2 days off together.The wages is fix,220 pound a week.After tax,186 something like that.Plus,there is tips about 140 every 2 weeks.Depend on how busy the hotel is.

My staff accomondation room is wonderful(where free wireless provided and fully furnished) ,food from the hotel is yum and co-workers are marvelous.

I have nothing to complain.

A bit messy at the moment...
Blog haven't been updating..so far away from the project I wanted to do..at least one article a week on my blog.But I know it is bit hard when going on the traveling.
I am bit tried of looking for jobs everywhere I go.But I choose to be moving around everywhere.I have no destination indeed,but this is the way of life I have choosen.My life won't allow me to stop,sometime i think I am a white witch without the bloom...

August...is a month for Olympic 2008 in Beijing.It is a far away dream for me now..when I was in high I remembering the promise with Wai Kheh,Wai Hong and Bet the fours will going to be gather in Beijing for Olympic in 2008 no matter how far we be seperated away.After graduated,we all facing the diffirent aspect of life(maybe not me)..went to school and step on to the real society.The promise have been taken away by the reality..so nobody really care now.

Today in 2008,I am in Glasgow,Scotland.The most elegant city that I ever seen,in the place that I always dream of to go because of the Japanese comic "Canday candy".Dreamin of to meet my white prince who wearing the kilt and fluting the traditional Scotish music on the highland..
Here,raining a lot(almost 5 days a week),locals speak very funny accent Scotish English (i like it thou),flut music can be listen at the corner of most of the high street here through the buiding.
August is the most season to visit Scotland as for its famous Edinburgh festival.Pictures speak thousand of words..ok,please visit my facebook..oh,add me before u can view it.

2 months in England

I know should have write something about my trip in UK,due to my laziness and sometime out-of-mindness,I failed.

Time past fast,most people(mostly some Malaysian friends I have met here)say "In UK"u really feel the time gone quickily because u just work,finish work sleep and start work again in the morning..u don't have a life coz been bothering of making more money.
I want to save money,but I don't want to kill my lifestyle ...but really, at the beginning,apart of visiting some SERVAS host made my trip a seem bit "extraordinary",the rest of my time during the 2 months here,I work,I visit some places,and then,I work.

First week-arrive London,visit locals SERVAS,explore the heart city of London.(coz its so big,I only choosed to visit some places of interest ,another words,famous tourist attraction.)
London,indeed a city worthy to visit.

Second week-I'v registered with an job agency which playing a role of sending people to work at diffirent function.I was luckily enough to work at the famous Wembley stadium during the football event in England for the summer.At the same time,got introduced to work at a chinese restaurant for couple of nights a week while still looking for "better jobs"

Third week-Got a job working at a little cafe nearby the place i lived while remained the chinese restaurant part time work.However,"lost" the agency job as a result of not turning up at the upcoming event.

Forth week-working at the same cafe for another 3 weeks later and resign for some reasons.

And then...found the job from the UK popular jobs-search website "Gumtree" to work in the flower show and golf field..Another great chances to see Britain as working in high profile's summer event.Again,these kind of jobs is actually arranged by job agency which speacilize on providing flexible worker or catering staff to those events.

Working for the catering agencies are indeed a good option to explore UK and meet lots of lots of locals and travellers.

Will keep up working on life and my blog.

My friends and colleagues here in England find difficult to pronouce my name.Sometime just make it easy I don't mind they calling me Lani or Lantany.When I was in Singapore,my friends called me as Lana.
I had so many English name since I was young.But now I just like to back to use the original one.
"Lan" is my chinese name,in chinese character it mean the "orchid flower".(Elegant and beautiful ^ ^)
When you find my name is hardly to pronouce or not that easy to remember,then just
call me Local Area..("Local Area Network").
